THE Royal British Legion social club has emerged as a hotbed of ladies darts in Hucknall.
Just look at the latest table for the HUCKNALL LADIES DARTS LEAGUE.
For not only does the Legion boast the leaders and defending champions, Legion Poppies, but also the second and third-placed teams, Royal British Legion and Foreign Legion, after the first six weeks of the new 2011/12 season.
Poppies, who have been nigh on unbeatable in recent seasons, top the pile thanks to an unblemished record of six successive victories in which only eight legs have been conceded.
They are two points clear of Legion, who have won five out of six, and four points in front of Foreign Legion, who have also won all bar one of their opening fixtures.
Next in the table come league newcomers George Street, whose team is the side that used to play at the Plough And Harrow.
Meanwhile in the First Round of the league’s Knockout Cup, the sole tie resulted in a walkover for George Street because their scheduled opponents, Red Lion, failed to field a side.
In the First Round of the league’s Challenge Cup, Royal British Legion travelled to Masons Arms and took the first four legs to win the tie convincingly.
