Hucknall’s greatest athlete, Andy Turner, is certainly being ket busy since hanging up his running spikes and calling time on his career.

After a holiday in Ibiza, he got back to work with his citcuit training and fitness business Antics, which is based near his home town of Sutton in Surrey.

And then he got involved with the Go Run For Fun campaign, which is a national initiative designed to inspire children to take up running as an enjoyable, fun activity.

As our photo shows, one of Andy’s first assignments with Go Run For Fun was to start a fun run for kids that preceded the Ipswich Half-Marathon last Sunday.

More than 1,000 youngsters took part, and Andy was happy to sign autographs and pose for photos.

Said a Go Run For Fun spokesman: “Running is inexpensive and a fundamental part of so many other sports too. If children catch the running bug early, we know they stick to it, so an active and healthy lifestyle is enjoyed and not seen as a chore.”
