ANGLING: Peg 13 is lucky draw

PEG number 13 was far from unlucky for Andy Rucus when he stormed to victory in the latest Thursday evening match staged at the GOOSEDALE FISHERIES at Bestwood Village.

Taking most of his fish from the margins, using luncheon meat, Rucus weighed in with a whopping 42lb 11oz, which was more than 17lb in front of second-placed Scott Robinson (25-10).

In third was Lee Parker with 24-8, while the rest of the weights comprised: Chris Garratt 14-8, Rob Lewis 11-5, Dave Quinn 9-10, Kev Holmes 9-0, Phil Hartshorn 8-3, Mark Marwood 7-2 and Alan Marson 0-7.

It was the best night‘s fishing of the season so far at Goosedale, with everyone successful.

ROB Daws was the toast of HUCKNALL ANGLERS when the club visited the Oak Tree Lakes at Brinsley.

For Daws topped the weights with an impressive 29lb 10oz to finish well clear of a 20-strong field.

Other weights were: Ernie Davis 14-1, Brian Cross 13-9, Russ Tideswell 13-0, Ray Pickin 12-4, Terry Coltart 12-3, Pat Hall 9-2, Trev Tideswell 7-11, Tom Bakewell 7-8, Dennis Hall 6-2, Dave Clarke 5-14, Ken Shaw 4-9 and Dave Rose 3-12. Seven members failed to land any fish.
