Brace of firsts are highlights

TWO first places were the highlightsof the gala as HUCKNALL FALCON came up against tough opposition in the Arena League at Droitwich Spa.

And they both came from boys’ senior captain, Calum Murray, who took the open 15-and-under 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle.

Despite finishing last of six teams, Falcon also enjoyed three runner-up placings.

Again Murray was at the heart of all things positive as he took the boys’ open 200m individual medley and then joined up with Sam Murden, Kyle Raison and Joe Lidgett in the boys’ 15-and-under 4x50m freestyle relay. The third second place came from Raison (boys’ 13-and-under 100m freestyle).

Personal bests were collected by: Sophie Hutson, Emily Butler and Tara Connor (all as part of girls’ 11-and-under 4x50m freestyle relay), Ellie-May Gunn (junior girls captain as part of girls’ 15-and-under 4x50m freestyle relay and girls’ 15-and-under 100m backstroke), Joe Lidgett (as part of boys’ 15-and-under 4x50m freestyle relay), Jai Raison (boys’ 11and-under 50m backstroke), Archie Penlington (boys’ 13-and-under 100m breaststroke), Sophie Hutson (girls’ 11-and-under 50m butterfly), Kyle Raison (boys’ 13-and-under 100m butterfly) and Daniel Copley (as part of men’s open 6x50m freestyle relay).
