Deadly Dave Butler was the hero of a win that continued the thrilling revival by reigning champions Station Hotel B in the HUCKNALL EPA POOL LEAGUE.
Station B inflicted only the second defeat of the season on title-hunters Royal British Legion B, winning 5-3, with Butler successful on singles and pairs. And that made it five victories on the bounce to move them only two points behind their second-placed visitors.
Legion B led 3-2 at one stage, courtesy of Colin Draycott, Joe Etherington and Wayne Cartledge. But wins on the last two legs by PJ Singh, Paddy McShane cracked it for Station B.
The result enabled unbeaten leaders Royal British Legion A to power six points clear after an 8-0 whitewash of Station Hotel A, while H2O also edged closer to second spot with a 6-2 victory at Spot-On, whose only consolation was an eight-ball clearance on the opening leg by Joe Hammond. Other results were 4-4 draws between Liberal and Chequers, and Bestwood Village Social Club and The Dragon, plus a 6-2 win for Yew Tree at Green Dragon.
