FOOTBALLERS of Hucknall’s Rolls-Royce Leisure Under-7s outfit have scored a timely financial boost.

For they have been presented with a cheque for £300 from Coun Mick Murphy (Con), a Hucknall member of Notts County Council.

The cash will be spent on equipment and running costs for the club, who are based at the Rolls-Royce Leisure Club site off Watnall Road.

Coun Murphy, who used to work at Rolls-Royce, has allocated the money from a funding pot designed to benefit local organisations.

Coun Murphy said: “The club do an excellent job and I am delighted to offer support.”

Lindsey Webster, secretary for the under-7s, said: “We are delighted to find out that we had been successful in our bid for community cash.

“The money will be spent on new training equipment, footballs and some towards a coaching course.”
