CRICKET: Hucknall’s good league form maintained

A SOLID display by Hucknall enabled them to secure a three-wicket win in Division A of the Gunn And Moore South Notts League at West Bridgfordians and keep their recent good form going.

After winning the toss, Hucknall’s opening bowlers Josh Buckley and Tim Buckthorpe bowled tightly with just 24 coming from the first ten overs.

Jon Sheard and Henry Straw put on 52 before Sheard edged Buckthorpe through to Tom Walters for 22. Buckthorpe ended a superb spell of 16 overs with 1-41.

Adam Scott set about the rest of the batting order and his superb 16-over spell saw him finish with 5-38 to finish man of the match.

Two run-outs by Maxwell and Scott Harris enabled Hucknall to be able to bowl the hosts out in the last over for 150.

In reply, a donation of wides helped Hucknall get off to a rousing start with Aaron Lee and Max Thompson putting on 47 at nearly seven-an-over before Lee went for 25.

Maxwell hammered 20 from 14 balls but fell going for another big one as three wickets fell for eight runs. Scott Harris made 14 off 33 balls before being bowled and Jake Wright followed to make it 105-6 .

Lee Smith and Buckthorpe combined to put on 26 to get Hucknall within 20 of the target. Josh Buckley finished things off with an extra cover drive to bring victory with 13 overs left.
