JUST two teams, including leaders George Street, remain unbeaten after the first five weeks of the new HUCKNALL MEN’S DARTS LEAGUE.
Street stretched their advantage at the top to two points by whitewashing struggling Legion 8-0.
They have now won four of their five fixtures, taking 33 legs in the process and conceding only seven.
Second-placed Royal British Legion A have also yet to lose — but they were held to a nervy 4-4 draw in their latest match against Green Dragon.
In a remarkable match, Dragon looked poised for an upset when racing into a 4-0 lead, courtesy of Brian Brockerly, Tom Allies and Darren Breedon.
But Legion A stormed back in the hands of captain Gary Banks and Curt Smith, who both triumphed on singles and pairs. Banks’s partner was Aaron Gormley and Smith’s was Steve Jacques.
In the week’s remaining fixture, Central Club picked up two valuable points against bottom-of-the-table Yew Tree, who have yet to collect a point so far.
