Daws closed on Arthur’s rivals

THE FISHERMAN of HUCKNALL ANGLERS took on Wellow Dam last Sunday and of the 15 who took pegs, Arthur Daws led the way with a big-sized haul of 41lb 13oz.

Rob Daws was second with 34-1, Russ Tideswell third with 23-2, Terry Coltart fourth with 22-10 and Brian Cross fifth with 21-7.

There was then a big differential to the next places with Tony Beastall sixth, 11-12; Dave Clarke seventh with 9-1; Trev Tideswell caught 8-8 in eighth; Ray Pickin was ninth with 6-9; Ken Shaw was in tenth with 5-1; Brad Livock 11th, 4-11; Tom Bakewell 12th, 4-3; 13th Dennis Hall 3-12 and in 14th, Dudley Young with 3-1. Len Gill did not weigh.

The next match is this Sunday, September 2, at Hacketts Farm.

BARRY Blewitt recorded the top weight at HUCKNALL TOWN ANGLING CLUB’S match at Rycroft New Canal last Sunday.

He reeled in a total weight of 16lb 5oz to push Steve Knighton into second place with 15-0. Third was Derek Alcock with 14-10, fourth Colin Robinson 13-4, fifth Dave Wright with 12-0, sixth Rob Lewis 6-5, seventh Rich Charlton with 1-12, eighth Kev Blewitt with 1-3.

Barrie Robinson, Mick Stanley and Alan Lucas did not weigh.
