Free buses to Yellows’ home matches

THE new owners at Hucknall Town have announced their first scheme to attract more fans by laying on FREE buses to home matches.

Chairman Steve Greaves’s company, Premiere Travel, is to run the buses on the Red8 service, which links the Hucknall estates to Watnall Road.

Starting from the match against Stamford on Wednesday October 26, buses will run from Beauvale and Ruffs on one side of Town’s ground and from the town-centre tram station and the Welbeck Estate on the other.

Before the game, buses will leave Beauvale Post Office at 1825 and 1900, Babbacombe Way at 1827 and 1902, Ruffs Drive at 1832 and 1907, Hucknall tram station at 1845 and 1915, and Broomhill Road at 1850 and 1920.

Return buses after the game will leave the Watnall Road ground at 2130 and 2200 to Beauvale and Ruffs and 2145 and 2215 to the tram station and Welbeck.

All journeys will take less than ten minutes and if the service is successful, it will continue for all home games this season.

TOWN are also keen to win back the support of local businesses.

“Some might have been alienated in recent years,” said the club’s public relations director Jamie Swift.

“But we would ask them to forget anything that has happened in the past and contact the club.

“We would welcome any kind of help — from shirt sponsorship to advertising boards around the ground.

“Even if you have no money to spend, you might be able to provide a service to help the club.”
