Fun day of bowls to boost MS Society

MEMBERS of HUCKNALL ROLLS LEISURE BOWLS CLUB were on target with a fun tournament to raise funds for the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society.

The event was organised by club president Howard Bakewell, of Walk Mill Drive, who invited relatives and friends of Hucknall girl Stacey Stevenson.

Stacey was diagnosed with MS six years ago and has had first-hand experience of the vital work the society carries out.

Fittingly, the tourney was won by one of her neighbours, Paul Millott, who donated his winnings (the price of a barrel of beer) to the cause.

Thanks to entry fees, a raffle and refreshments, which included home-made cakes, a total of £227.17 was raised for the MS Society — and this was boosted even further by £200 from an anonymous donor.
