Three local bowlers have enjoyed success over the last week.
The highlight for Rolls Royce Leisure Bowls Club in Hucknall this week, was the performance of Dave Adams, who amassed five trophies in nine days.
Firstly he retained his Skegness EBA open singles title.
After winning through five rounds he beat a bowler from Spalding 21-03 in the semi-final before producing another fine display to beat a Sutton-in-Ashfield bowler by the same score to claim the trophy ,a cash prize and another ‘jolly fisherman’ figurine.
It was nearly a family double as wife Janet only lost the ladies final 21-18 in a close fought game.
In the county finals at Manor Sports Complex in Mansfield, Adams completed a tremendous double, winning the Evening Post two bowl singles by 21-8, followed by the Coronation Cup four bowl singles, winning 21-16.
This is only the fiveth time in 92 years that a player has claimed both titles in the same season.
The following day Adams was joined by club colleague David Hayes to win the county pairs title, The Captain Ball trophy, beating a pair from Kirkby 17-13 in a close final.
Twenty-four hours later it was back on the green, and the two Daves were joined by Janet Adams to claim the county mixed triples title.
Although 14-03 down at one stage they won eight of the last nine ends to claim a 20-17 victory.
All three will now represent Nottinghamshire at the national finals held next month.
Dave Adams has now amassed a total of 56 county titles.
