A TEAM from Hucknall have been chosen to take part in the annual non-league football bonanza enjoyed by ground-hoppers.
The Central Midlands League organise the event every year for followers of non-league football whose hobby is to visit as many grounds as possible.
The idea of the event is to stagger the kick-off times over a particular weekend, enabling the ground-hoppers to get to as many matches as they can.
And AFC Hucknall (Hucknall Town’s reserve side) will feature in this year’s bonanza, which will take place over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday March 25 and 26.
Kinsley Boys, of Pontefract, West Yorkshire, entertain Harworth on the Friday night (kick-off 7.45 pm), followed by four games during the Saturday — Phoenix (of Rotherham) v Kiveton Park at 10.15 am, Thoresby Colliery Welfare v AFC Hucknall at 1.40 pm, Parkhouse (of Chesterfield) v Sutton Town at 5.10 pm and South Normanton Athletic v FC 05 Bilsthorpe at 8 pm.
Amazingly, ground-hoppers from all over the world are expected to attend, including non-league followers from Australia, Germany, Sweden and Holland.
Tickets covering all five games are on sale for £15, which includes matchday programmes. There is also a coach running to the four Saturday games, with seats priced £15.
To book, ring the chief organiser of the event, Rob Hornby, on 01623 486678.
