HOW about this for a remarkable record?.....250 consecutive appearances and EIGHT YEARS without missing a single match!

That’s the proud achievement of Liam Burley, who plays for HUCKNALL WARRIORS youth football club.

Striker Liam joined the club as a seven-year-old and is now playing for the under-15s. To mark his milestone, he was presented with a special note from former England, Manchester United and Liverpool star Paul Ince, who manages Notts County, the team Liam supports.

Ince wrote: “To have reached such a milestone at only 14 years of age is a real achievement but to have done so with consecutive appearances is truly incredible and you should be very proud of yourself.”

The Magpies chief went on to wish Liam all the best for the future and arranged for the whole Notts County first team to sign a shirt that was also presented to him by Warriors under-15s’ manager Mick Burnell.

Burnell said: “Liam has shown total commitment and this is well deserved.”

Club chairman Paul Burley added: “The response from Notts County was fantastic. It was such a nice touch and we are very appreciative. It shows that they really do care about youth football development.”
