JUDO: Golden debut for Curtis

DEBUTANT Curtis Flint struck gold as three members of EDGEWOOD JUDO CLUB impressed at the Notttingham Closed Championships.

The Hucknall-based outfit travelled to the event at Bilborough College Leisure Centre with Flint outstanding in the boys’ yellow belts under-25kg category.

He won both his contests with maximum ippon throws.

Also in action for Edgewood was Oscar Green, who took silver in the boys’ red belts under-28kg section where he won two of his three bouts with ippon scores.

The final member of the trio was Benjamin Watkin, who bagged a bronze in the boys’ yellow belt under-40kg category. Benjamin was also making his competitive debut.
