Legion put pressure on

ROYAL British Legion recorded a 4-1 home victory over bottom-of-the-table Bentinck to move up one place into second in the HUCKNALL SUMMER DOMINOES LEAGUE.

And, with only two league games left of the season, the big win also keeps pressure on leaders Bestwood Village Social Club and ensures an exciting finale to the campaign.

For their part, Bestwood edged the verdict 3-2 against a visiting Shamrock side to make sure they maintained their top spot in the division.

The defeat means Shamrock’s albeit outside hopes of winning the title have now definitely gone.

Talk of the Town dropped down to third place despite a 3-2 win at Conny A

The other 4-1 thrashing came from George St Working Men’s Club B side who saw off visiting Crafty Conny who are now fifth in the table having dropped one place.

At the wrong end, Station Public House Hucknall made sure they stayed out of the wooden spoon place after edging the verdict 3-2 at home to stable-mates Station B.
