Mighty Ant’s century inspires Papplewick to first win

A sparkling unbeaten century by opener Ant Woolley fired PAPPLEWICK AND LINBY 3RD to their first win of the season since being relegated to the Bassetlaw League’s Sixth Division.

Woolley stroked 105 not out, including one six and 12 fours, and shared stands of 66 with Sam Paulson (25, three fours) and 152 with Dan Simpson (53, three fours) as Papplewick totalled 225-2 at the Burntstump.

Visitors Bawtry 2nd were then rolled over for 95 inside 26 overs, with Neil South (3-18 in nine overs) and Kris Barfield (3-21 in 3.4) leading the attack.

Meanwhile veteran Graham Caudwell rolled back the years with 55 (seven fours) in a five-wicket win for HUCKNALL 3RD at West Bridgfordians 3rd in Division H of the Gunn And Moore South Notts League.

Caudwell put on 74 with another golden oldie, Andy Wagstaff (30, four fours) as Hucknall chased 170-6.
