The annual Christmas party of HUCKNALL FALCON SWIMMING CLUB proved to be a night to remember in more ways than one.
Not only was everybody in great spirits ahead of the festive celebrations. But the event also doubled up as a presentation ceremony for swimmers who had been members of the club throughout the year.
All received a medal, but four special trophies were also handed out. Reuben Lang was named top boy of the year, while Grace Allsop took the top girl equivalent.
The personality award was presented to development head coach Tracey Lidgett, while the attendance award went to Emma Hutson.
The top boy and girl accolades are based on a points system, while the personality award is based on a vote by parents and swimmers. Attendance reflects the total number of sessions attended during the year.
Entertainment on the night was provided by D Z Disco, of Nottingham, who not only supplied some fun music but also lots of party games.
The swimmers who received medals were: Emma Hutson, Ellie Barker, Elise Connor, Ellie-May Gunn, Lauren Straw, Tara Connor, Rebecca Fitch, Jordana Harrison, Beth Hopkinson, Dylan Hopkinson, Charlie Stenson, Lottie O’Reilly, George Webster, Dylan Walker, Reuben Lang, Tyler Jay Pritchett, Harvey Green, Jai Raison, Kyle Raison, Sam Murden, Grace Allsop, Lianna Townsend, Sophie Hutson, Benjamin Canavan-Taylor, Chloe Melvin, Tilly Gunn, Katrine Wilson, Rhianna Wright, Hettie Chambers, Evie Allsop, Matthew Burke, Kyle Townsend, Lily Sanderson, Jacob Webster, Sophie Melvin and Adam Webber.
Other end-of-year news to emerge from Falcon is that the club’s press officer, Diane Webber, who also organises the annual open meet, is stepping down from her post, to be replaced by Mel Walker.
