JUST two games into the season and the HUCKNALL EPA LEAGUE is already having to reshuffle after Spot-On (Bulwell) withdrew from the competition.

Players who had pledged to turn out for the outfit have let organisers down, leaving them no choice but to resign.

None of the cuemen who originally signed up will be able to play for the league’s remaining sides.

Back on the baize, Empire A were in sizzling form as they hammered the Flying Bedstead 8-0 with Tony Dobb racking up a singled and pairs double.

The whitewash maintained the 100% start to the campaign of Empire, who were runners-up last season.

Also enjoying a fine start to the new campaign are Royal British Legion B, who added to their 7-1 win the previous week with a 5-3 success over Bestwood Village Social Club.

Elsewhere, Station Hotel (Hucknall) B collected their first maximum points’ haul with a 5-3 win over Green Dragon after racing into the lead with success on five of the opening six frames.

In the final match of the week, there was no separating The Dragon and Royal British Legion A, who shared a 4-4 stalemate thanks to a win on the last frame from Martin Bremner for Legion A.
