Just weeks after being awarded the ‘gold standard’ by the Racehorse Owners Association, which represents Britain’s 8,000 racehorse owners, the venue has been shortlisted for a national award.

It is one of five courses contesting the ‘Owners’ Experience’ category at the Racecourse Association’s Showcase event. Its rivals are Kempton Park, Haydock Park, York and Windsor.

During 2014, Colwick Park has opened a new, spacious bar and informal restaurant for owners, who have received a hamper of local cheeses as well as their prize money.

The track is part of the Jockey Club group of courses, which is investing £50 million in racing’s facilities, including amenities for racegoers, and prize money.

Nottingham’s final two fixtures of the year are on Wednesday 29th October and Wednesday 5th November. Every Flat season, the popular track stages more than 20 meetings.
