In a statement, Hollinworth said: “Sadly, I have decided it is right for me to step down from my position as head physio at Mansfield Town Football Club.

“I have really enjoyed my six months at the club and have found everyone incredibly professional and welcoming.

“I am very grateful to the club for the opportunity to work in an ambitious and progressive first-team environment.

“I wish the club all the best for the upcoming season and I am confident the dedication shown by the players, management and staff will soon be rewarded with success on the pitch.”

Stags are now looking to recruit a charter-standard head physiotherapist to replace Hollinworth. All applications should be directed to the club’s head of communications, Mark Stevenson, via [email protected]
