Second promotion on the trot for Sutton swimmers

Sutton Swimming Club clinched the Sports Centre League Division Two title at Carlton Forum Leisure Centre last weekend.

With six league points added to their total for this latest victory Sutton SC have now achieved 29 league points out of the 30 available.

After round five of six Nottingham Leander SC are in second place overall in the league with 18 points. So, with just one round remaining and a maximum of six league points available, it is therefore clear that Sutton SC have comfortably won Division Two and will compete in Division One in 2015.

A club spokesman said: “This is a fantastic achievement given that Sutton SC only gained promotion to Division Two this year. So with back to back promotions they have gone from Division Three to Division One in the shortest possible time.

“Sutton SC continue to build their competitive squad and, having now managed to retain the vast majority of their own swimmers over the past couple of years, are now developing some strength in depth which is allowing the club to compete at ever increasingly high standards of competition.

“Given that all the coaching team and helpers are complete volunteers, this is even more impressive.”
