The 15-year-old thought she had done enough against Germany’s Sarah Leighman to take the World Kickboxing and Karate Union (WKU) under-55kg belt.

The Hucknall teen felt she had won three out of five rounds in her title fight last month but WKU judges and officials were undecided and concluded a draw.

But, unhappy with the result, Callan made an official complaint and appealed the decision.

Video evidence of the fight was sent to English WKU president Paul Sutton who showed his German counterpart and the two of them overturned the result and agreed the fight was won by Callan.

Callan was presented with the belt by Mr Sutton on April 30th at the British Open Championships in Solihull. Callan will defend the title on 1st July at Tamworth. There is another defence of the belt lined up for the winner of that fight in Germany later in the year.
