THE signing of an international striker will give Hucknall Town "something different", says manager Bryan Chambers.
Vladimir Farrell, who plays for the tiny Caribbean island of Montserrat, has been snapped up from Sutton Town, of the Central Midlands League, Supreme Division.
The diminutive Farrell (27) signed on Friday January 23 and was an unused substitute in The Yellows' 0-0 draw with Southport a day later.
Chambers said: "This guy is the quickest thing you will see. I thought Lindon Meikle at Eastwood Town was quick but this lad is even faster.
"He is a bit lightweight but he has good feet and he will definitely give us something different to attack teams with."
Farrell has played in five World Cup qualifiers for his country and scored in a 7-1 defeat to Surinam in a qualifier for the 2010 World Cup in March last year.
He also played in 'The Other Final', a game between the two lowest-placed sides in the FIFA rankings for a TV documentary film made by a disgruntled Holland fan upset at his team's failure to reach the 2002 World Cup finals.
In what was an alternative to the World Cup Final, Montserrat played Bhutan on the morning of the 2002 final between Germany and Brazil.
Unfortunately, Farrell fluffed his team's only chance as Bhutan won 4-0.
Nottingham-based Farrell has also played for Long Eaton United, Carlton Town and South Normanton Athletic.
