Blues favourite Kent comes to Belper venue
Perhaps the most authentic of contemporary blues players, Kent’s career has always been entwined with that of the blues greats from the Chicago and Delta scenes.
In fact, he was first spotted by no less than Willie Dixon, a fortuitous meeting leading to his first recording deal.
From then onwards, Kent went on to record, perform and tour with all the surviving blues giants, including a memorable collaboration with Johnny Shines, who travelled with Robert Johnson back in the 30s.
Kent discovered his 1934 National Steel guitar, Leadbessie, back in the 80s and the two have been inseparable since, much to the delight of audiences worldwide.
Duffield duo and firm favourites on the local scene Chris and Dave open for Kent. Admission is £8 and doors open at 8pm.
