Highsmith film on big screen at Quad

The Adapting Highsmith film season at Quad in Derby continues with screenings of Deep Water (15) on August 21, 24 and 25.

Deep Water (Eaux Profondes) from 1981 is a French film directed by Michel Deville in a dark humoured version of Patricia Highsmith’s 1957 novel.

Middle aged perfumer Vic Allen lives on Jersey with his young wife Melanie and their daughter Marion.

Melanie embarks on a string of extra-marital flirtations, all with her husband’s apparent approval, but mild-mannered, chess-playing Vic soon has murder on his mind.
