Although the pop choir for ladies was only formed in April, it already has 27 members who enjoy coming along every week to sing many of their favourite songs.

Its first concert took place on July 20, in the Church Rooms, Edwinstowe, to a packed audience of family and friends.

Instead of purchasing tickets, each member of the audience was asked to bring a non-perishable food item to gain entry. This resulted in a collection of over 70kg of food which was donated to the Trussell Trust, who run the food bank in Ollerton.

New members are always welcome. There are no auditions and you don’t even need to be able to read music, so if you enjoy singing great songs and would like to benefit from the feeling of well-being which is gained from singing in a group, then come along to rehearsals. These take place each Monday between 7pm–8.30pm in the Church Rooms, Mansfield Road, Edwinstowe. Weekly sessions cost £4.
