Live and Local is a not-for-profit arts organisation working with voluntary groups across counties including Derbyshire, bringing professional productions to venues that are on your doorstep.

The season kicks off on October 18 with a performance by Radio Banska. The group rips up the file marked ‘genre’ and throws the resultant musical confetti in the air for all to dance around in.

This instrumental world jazz quintet plays a stunning array of genre-defying Latin, east European, middle-eastern and fusion compositions delivered with passion and style. The show gets under way at 7.30pm.

On November 21 from 7pm, New PerspectivesTheatre Company will present He Wore A Red Hat.

This is a quirky, funny comedy-whodunit with a festive theme.

It’s set in a village where a series of increasingly unpleasant crimes have been committed. The local amateur detectives are convinced the culprit is wearing a red hat. It couldn’t possibly be Santa? Or could it...?

Later in the season, you can see Aire Flamenco, a concerr presented by Synergy, on March 12.

This tremendously skilled trio, originally from Spain, brings the passion and drama of flamenco to their mixture of Latin based songs and instrumentals.

Finally, on April 17, The Iranian Feast is to be presented by Farnham Maltings.

What really goes on in Iran? Meet Abbas, father, friend and great cook in this reassuringly human play about people just like us, living in extraordinary times.
