One Night of Tom Jones tribute show at Mansfield Palace Theatre

Songs made famous by global superstar Tom Jones will be aired in a concert featuring dynamic entertainer Glen Leon.

Glen will sing hits from five decades in One Night Of Tom Jones at Mansfield’s Palace Theatre.

Classic numbers such as Delilah, With These Hands, It’s Not Unusual, What’s New Pussycat? A Boy From Nowhere and many more are lined up for his show in town on Sunday, March 1.

The range and raw energy of Glen’s voice is renowned for its uncanny resemblance to Tom Jones.

Broadcasting legend Tony Blackburn described Glen’s voice as “Closest I’ve heard to the man himself” while Tom Crane from Sixties’ band The Merseybeats said: “Incredible. Close your eyes and you’ll think Tom Jones was actually in the room.”

Glen will be accompanied by the 13-piece Connection Orchestra, which has worked in West End shows, and female backing singers from the award-winning Black Voices.

He decided to pursue a cabaret career in 1996 after several years in the music industry in which he did session work for record companies, wrote his own songs and played in bands.

He stumbled on performing a tribute to Tom Jones after doing an impression of him in his act.

Glen has supported Mike Read, Tom O’Connor, Cannon & Ball and many other big names.

In 2010 he began a Michael Buble Tribute Show (The Buble Feeling).

Glen has been entertaining all over the world since 1987 and has appeared on radio and television.

His first appearance on television was Jane Macdonald’s Star for A Night to great acclaim and he went on to work on cruise ships around the globe.

He also appeared on HTV Wales Classy Acts with the band Atomic Jones; three years later the same band became The New Amen Corner.

Tickets for One Night Of Tom Jones at 7.30pm cost £19.99. Contact 01623 633133 or www.mansfield.gov.uk/palacetheatre
