Pair of new arrivals at Twycross Zoo
Visitors can now see the babies exploring their surroundings while staying close to mum Mathilda and dad Moe.
Emperor Tamarins, which are very small monkey, are native to South America, occurring in Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and Colombia, where they live in small family groups above the forest floor in the tree canopies.

Hide AdTwin births are a typical occurrence among tamarin species, and when they are fully grown, the babies will weigh no more than 500g.
Dr. Charlotte Macdonald, head of life sciences said: “ We are really pleased that Mathilda has had a safe pregnancy and birth, and she has taken to motherhood instantly, with Moe helping her along the way.”
