To launch keen young theatregoers and their families into the half-term break, Error 404, a funny, engaging and unusual show which asks young audiences to look again at everything they thought they knew, will play at the theatre on Saturday, October, at 2.30pm.
Ideal for ages eight-plus, Error 404 tells the story of a ten-year-old boy and his best friend, a robot. After losing his best friend in an accident, the boy’s mum brings him home a surprise and things start getting very weird indeed. Join him on a rollercoaster of laughter, tears, music and games...you might even change the ending.
On Monday, October 26, at 11am and 2.30pm, Bleu!, a beautiful seaside sensory theatrical experience suitable for ages four-plus, narrates the story of two characters: a Sailor and a magical and mysterious being who is a Sea Nymph. It all starts when “She” drops a pearl into the sea so that “He” can find it. The sailor undertakes an adventurous journey, plowing the sea waters and diving to the lowest abysses, transforming the story into an active discovery and search for knowledge.
Our Teacher’s a Troll, (pictured), a colourfully comic show from the writer of the award-winning West End hit Matilda the Musical, is suitable for ages seven-plus and will play on Wednesday, October 28, at 11am and 2.30pm. Two terrible twins with a talent for turmoil rule their school with terror and tyranny - until the arrival of a new head teacher with green scaly skin, sharp gnarly fangs, and a long spiky tail.
For young people wanting to immerse themselves even more in the theatrical experience, and to take part themselves, the theatre will also be hosting Half Term Workshops for 8–11 year olds from October 26-28. The total cost for the three days is £45.
Tickets for Error 404, Bleu!, Our Teacher’s a Troll are £7-£9 for children and other concessions (£10-£11 for adults). For more information, and to book tickets/a place, call 01332 593939.
