Theatre Royal and Concert Hall announce spring schedule

The newly announced spring season at the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall Nottingham offers something to appeal to everyone, with a magical mix of music, dance and romance running from March to May.

Drama fans will delight in the choice on offer at the Theatre Royal this season with John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, classic comedy Hobson’s Choice starring Martin Shaw and Christopher Timothy, the hilarious West End hit Bad Jews and Richard Bean’s new drama, Toast, starring Olivier award winner Matthew Kelly.

Romance and dance make a powerful mix this season at the Theatre Royal with Birmingham Royal Ballet’s passionate Romeo and Juliet and the return of Matthew Bourne’s dazzling production of Sleeping Beauty.

The dance theme continues at the Royal Concert Hall in May with international star Carlos Acosta’s final classical ballet performance, Nederlands Dans Theater 2 presenting a vibrant mixed repertoire of contemporary dance and Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace returning to Nottingham with their farewell show, The Last Tango.

Annie, the world’s favourite family musical, comes to the Theatre Royal in March starring Lesley Joseph as Miss Hannigan and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will follow in May starring Lee Mead, Michelle Collins and Shaun Williamson.

Verity Rushworth takes on the iconic leading role of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Richard O’Brien’s classic rock and roll musical, Rocky Horror Show, returns to thrill Nottingham audiences once again.
