Theatre Royal gig for Georgie Rose

Mansfield singer Georgie Rose is one of four up-and-coming artists who is set to perform live on stage with a 14-piece orchestra at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal.

The ‘Nottingham Rocks’ concert is taking place on Saturday and will also see local talents Saint Raymond, Harleighblu and Amber performing their own music, accompanied by the Limelight Orchestra.

Georgie Rose (19), who also showcased her acoustic folk/country music at Nottingham’s Splendour festival this summer, said she is delighted to be involved with Nottingham Rocks.

“I’m super excited to be part of a big Nottingham night and to be playing with an orchestra - that’s going to be pretty unforgettable and special. I can’t wait,” she said.

Topping the bill is Saint Raymond, otherwise known as Callum Burrows from Bramcote, who performs his own blend of retro-acoustic pop. Having just signed a major record deal and after appearing at Reading and Leeds Festivals, Callum is looking forward to playing in his hometown.

He said: “I have never played any of my songs with an orchestra before, so it will be amazing to do so for the first time in my home town.

“I never thought that I would get to play at a venue like the Theatre Royal, so this event will be a real privilege.”

Harleighblu has her debut album out in October and her fresh take on soul music has turned her into a local live music sensation, while five-piece band Amber are hotly tipped for success with their unique sound finely balanced between stadium-sized rock and the sentiments of folk music.

Tickets for Nottingham Rocks are £10 and available at www.trch.co.uk.
