If the plans get the green light, it will allow the football club move to its new ground on Aerial Way.

And it will also allow the club to expand even more its reach in the community.

Among the benefits of the move for the club will be better facilities for the Hucknall Warriors youth team and the chance for the club to have a ladies side.

In a statement, the club said: "The application for the development on our current ground would allow us the opportunity to move to a new stadium on Aerial Way.

"This stadium will be a hub for football and other events within Hucknall and the surrounding area.

"Currently with a range of established teams as well as ideas for future development at the football club, we see this proposal as a positive

aspect for the community.

"Our first team is currently playing at step six in the East Midlands Counties League, after league promotion last season.

"Our development squad gives the opportunity for many young people to play football within a constructive and supportive setting, our Sunday team being another group of established and

talented players.

"Alongside our senior squads the new facilities will, in addition, be used by youth teams from Hucknall Warriors fielding players from five to 16 years-old embracing football

with all its benefits for health and wellbeing.

"The new venue would also enable us to offer a facility to a ladies team who are looking to be part of Hucknall Town Football Club.

"Not only will the ground enable us to offer a hub for football in Hucknall and beyond, it will be a facility for local people.

"At present we offer social sessions including Zumba, health and well-being sessions, brownies, a meeting room, parties, weddings and other community activities.

"We have hosted many successful events for charitable organisations and assisted in raising money for valuable research such as Cancer Research, Prostate Cancer, and local groups and charities personal to individuals.

"Some events have a football focus while others have utilised the venue for their own activity.

"The combination of a brand-new modern Lidl store and what Hucknall Town have to offer will support community progress and growth.

"We look forward to moving beyond these challenging times and to an even greater enhanced sense of community through sport in Hucknall.
