Inspectors also found that pupils are valued, respected and achieve well in most subjects.

They have highlighted that this is particularly the case for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND who achieve very well.

The report also notes that school leaders are driven to provide the very best education and experiences for pupils.

Jackie Hill, head teacher, said: “We strive to be a friendly, welcoming and inclusive school at the heart of our community providing the best education for all pupils.

“It’s great to see that recognised in this positive Ofsted report.

"I am really proud of our staff and pupils.”

In line with the Government’s new inspection framework, in the categories of early years and inclusion, the school was graded as ‘strong standard’, while achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teacher, leadership and governance and personal development and wellbeing are all of ‘expected standard’.

Safeguarding standards are also being met by the school.

In their report, inspectors noted that ‘early reading, writing and maths skills are taught effectively’ and children are ‘supported to be independent, resilient and curious learners’.

Leaders have ‘high expectations for all pupils’ including those with SEND, pupils who are disadvantaged, those who speak English as an additional language and those who are known to social care.

The school promotes ‘an inclusive culture’ where pupils ‘feel welcome and able to take part in all aspects of school life’, and the curriculum is ambitious.

Staff build ‘strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families’ and pupils are confident that they can share any worries with staff.

Leaders recognise that to support pupils, they need a respectful and supportive partnership with parents and carers.

Rigorous processes are in place to ensure pupils attend school regularly and most pupils attend school well.

Mark Mallender, chief executive officer at Tapestry Learning Partnership, commented: “Springfield Academy staff go the extra mile to ensure pupils receive the very best education and experiences that help them to grow into confident, curious and caring individuals.

“This latest positive Ofsted report is a ringing endorsement of that and I would like to congratulate the school on their success.”
