40 more coronavirus cases diagnosed in Nottinghamshire

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Nottinghamshire increased by 40 in the last 24 hours, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 55,380 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Thursday (April 22) in Nottinghamshire up from 55,340 the same time on Wednesday.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 2,728 over the period, to 4,398,431.

Nottinghamshire's cases were among the 327,619 recorded across the East Midlands, a figure which rose by 253 over the period.

In Mansfield, the latest seven-day rolling infection rate to April 17 stands at 46.7 per 100,000 people and has seen a 52.8 per cent fall in cases – but is still above the county average of 23.5 and England’s figure of 23.8.

The district also continues to have the highest Covid rate in Nottinghamshire.

Elsewhere in the county, Ashfield’s latest case rate stands at 14.9 per 100,000 people, Bassetlaw 41.7, Broxtowe 11.4, Geding 13.6, Newark & Sherwood 11.4, Nottingham City 29.1 and Rushcliffe 11.7.
