Three more die with Covid-19 in Mansfield area hospitals

Hospitals in and around Mansfield recorded three further deaths of patients who had tested positive for coronavirus according to the latest daily statistics out this afternoon (February 26).

A total of 537 patients have died from the virus while being cared for by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital, since the pandemic first hit.

The Government said a further 345 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 122,415

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 142,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.
