A wizard of a show by High Oakham pupils

Year four pupils from High Oakham School gave a spellbinding performance when they staged their own original musical production of ‘James Potter and the Golden Broomstick’ at West Notts College’s Create Theatre.

A total of 60 children were cast and an audience of 140, made up parents and guests, were delighted with their innovative show.

The youngsters were encouraged to develop the plot, select songs, choreograph the dances and paint the set as part of the school’s ‘Investors in Pupils’ initiative.

The hour-long production was based on the story of Harry Potter’s children attending Hogwarts School.

“The show was an amazing success,” said the school’s Niki Phillips. “Parents and staff were very proud of the wonderful acting, singing and dancing.”
