ALFRETON: Man charged over war memorial ‘incident’

A man has been charged in connection with incidents at a church and war memorial in Alfreton on Remembrance Sunday.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred on Sunday, 10th November at the memorial on Hall Street during the Remembrance Parade and at the New Life Church, Church Street.

A 52-year-old man from Alfreton has been charged with a religiously aggravated public order offence.

He appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield on Friday, November 15. He was released on bail and will reappear at court on 2nd December.
