Ashfield Festival set to take place on Saturday

The event, which is organised by Ashfield District Council and takes place at Sutton Lawn on Saturday, will include live music, sports taster sessions, food, fairground rides, business and charity stalls, crafts and much more.
Although last year’s event had to be cancelled due to heavy rainfall, the organisers are hoping to tap into the enthusiasm sparked by the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“There are things to do for people of all different ages and abilities. There are also lots of things to watch if you don’t want to get involved.
Paralympic champion Ollie Hynd, from Kirkby, will be signing autographs and raising money for the Nicola Daniels fund, while younger visitors will have the chance to meet Titan the Robot.
People will be able to enjoy live music including a show by Jessie J tribute act Vicky Jackson and Coolplay who will be performing the music of Coldplay.
