Beauty spot awarded its 15th Green Flag

Clipstone’s Vicar Water has been awarded a prestigious Green Flag by the Keep Britain Tidy group.

The award recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country.

It is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

Councillor Tony Roberts, chairman of Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Leisure and Environment Committee, said: “I am delighted that NSDC and its grounds staff have managed to maintain the high standards of previous years. They should be very proud of the work put in to our green spaces for all to enjoy.

“I am sure that many of our residents have made good use of our parks and gardens during this spell of excellent weather. Let us hope that the rest of the summer is just as good.”

Phil Beard, Newark and Sherwood District Council Business Manager for Parks and Amenities, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive the Green Flag awards for Vicar Water Country Park for the 15th successive year.”
