Bulwell school goes green thanks to Morrisons
Springfield Primary School has gained a variety of gardening materials and assets after parents, pupils, staff and family members collected thousands ‘Lets Grow’ vouchers from the supermarket.
To celebrate headteacher Jane Belinda Francis and teaching Assistant Katrina Bloom showcased Springfield’s growing interest in horticulture at a Foundation garden party to special guests.

Hide AdThrough Morrisons ‘Lets Grow’ initiative Springfield Primary has acquired planters, nesting boxes, garden tools, plants, fruit trees, bee houses, compost bins, hedgehog dens and equipment all designed to motivate the interest of youngsters.
“The children were delighted to be outdoors pushing little wheelbarrows and using garden forks and trowels in a safe environment,” said Katrina Brown.
“Our school has been selected as one of those most committed to Morrisons ‘Lets Grow’ scheme. As a result we are reaping the benefits,”said Mrs Francis.
“Parents have played a big part in helping us to give our children the opportunity to learn about the great outdoors and to appreciate the wonders of nature and of growing their own fruit, vegetables and flowers”.
