Bus stop attracting bother

A BUS stop and shelter on Broomhill Road in Hucknall could be moved because of anti-social behaviour outside an adjoining row of shops, the town's Partnership Group has been told.

Sgt Deb Regan, of Hucknall police, said the suggestion was made in response to a well-supported questionnaire among residents.

“The position of the stop could be changed slightly but there will be no alteration in the bus service,” she stressed.

However group chairman Chris Baron thought it was up to the police to deal with the offenders, rather than making passengers, including elderly people, change the place where they caught buses.

In reply, Sgt Regan said it was now down to Notts County Council to make the decision as a result of the survey.
