Businesses back junior entreprise
The scheme, which is backed by award-winning firm Hall Fast, aims to develop the tenacity, independence, innovation, imagination, risk taking, creativity, intuition and leadership skills of those taking part.
Mansfield Town Football Club, Mansfield District Council, Mansfield 2020, Linney’s and Vision West Nottinghamshire College and media partners Chad and Mansfield 103.2 radio and A Star Media have committed to guide participating year 9 students from six Mansfield schools with the aim to develop an understanding of how to set up a small business enterprise including the costs and responsibilities involved. Directed by a local business mentors the small teams from each school will form a small business and take it to market.

Hide AdThe groups will be guided through each stage including developing a business plan, producing a marketing advert for Mansfield 103.2 right through to selling the actual product they produce in Mansfield Market place.
Teams are judged by selected local business people and then go head to head at a spectacular awards evening on Wednesday 9th July 2014 providing them with the opportunity to show case their business to other schools, family, friends and businesses in North Nottinghamshire.

Previous motivational speakers include leading Mansfield business man and multi-award winner Malk Hall. The event organisers are delighted to confirm this unique event has secured another inspirational speaker for the 2014 awards evening Rob Wilmot. Rob is as one of the 4 founding executives of Freeserve, and became one of the youngest executive officers of a FTSE 100 company at the age of 29.
Rob has 10 years’ experience of introducing entrepreneurial principles into local government and has led various successful organisational turn-arounds within the further education and higher education sectors. In 2011 he was also nominated as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) for his work in education and technology. More recent ventures include bcsAgency, a tech-based marketing and communications consultancy in Nottingham.
