Cobs are on Jim at park cafe relaunch
Jim Aspinall, member for regeneration at Ashfield District Council, is pictured below serving up a cob at the Portland Park Cafe.
The councillor was on-site for the cafe’s handover to the Green Box Trust - a charity which helps train young people and help them find future employment.
Portland Park’s cafe was facing closing as a result of government cuts but was offered to Green Box when they approached the district council.
Said Coun Aspinall: “Jo and Karla, from Green Box, came to see me and as the conversation developed it became obvious to me that the solution was staring us in the face.”
