“Burglary has a detrimental impact on victims both financially but also mentally as well. No one has the right to barge into another person’s home and act in a threatening and violent manner and we won't tolerate this behaviour in Nottinghamshire.

"Knife crime is taken extremely seriously and we work tirelessly day-in day-out to tackle the issue, raise awareness of the dangers and prevent people from becoming involved in knife crime in the first place.

"We're pleased we have now arrested two people thorough our enquiries and we will continue to work with the victims to ensure they're supported going forward."

Over five fewer homes a day were burgled in Nottinghamshire in the year to 31 December 2020, compared to the previous year, according to the figures from the Office for National Statistics. This is a drop of 1,978 burglaries (down 25 per cent).
