Driver rammed into police cars during pursuit in Bulwell

A man has been charged with numerous driving offences after officers used tactical contact to stop a car that had rammed police vehicles in Bulwell.

It follows a report of threatening behaviour in Ascot Road, Radford at around 11pm on Friday, October 16, and offenders had fled the scene.

Half an hour after the report was made to police, a black Honda Civic, believed to be linked to the incident was spotted in Nuthall Road.

Moments later, police moved to stop the car at the junction of Highbury Road and Spring Road in Bulwell.

However, the car proceeded to ram police vehicles in attempt to evade officers.

Damage was sustained to several police cars in the incident.

The Honda Civic then drove towards Bulwell where it was successfully stopped by police in Bulwell High Road.

Kane Williams, 21, of no fixed address, has been charged with failing to stop for police, failing to stop at a road traffic collision as well as driving while disqualified and without insurance.

He was due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on October 19.

Four men, aged 20, 22, 22 and 26 also arrested have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Nick Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This incident saw fantastic work from our Response and Operational Support officers.

“The fact that no one was injured in the incident is an example of how highly-trained our officers are to respond to difficult situations.”
