Jennifer Jones was standing outside her home, on Garden Terrace, Newstead, in a drunk state when officers arrived at her address on June 12 last year.
Nottingham Crown Court heard on Tuesday, April 20 that the 43-year-old had hurled abuse at the officers – calling them ‘pigs’ and ‘paedos’ – and threatened to ‘bite their faces off’ if they entered her property.

Prosecuting, Mark Knowles said Jones had then started punching herself to the head as the officers went inside and kicked a police officer after he walked her to an awaiting car following her arrest.
She then spat at a detention officer when she arrived at the police station but it didn’t hit him, the court heard.
Jones had admitted two counts of assaulting an emergency worker at an earlier hearing on March 19.
Mitigating, David Outterside, told the court that Jones’ mother had died four years before the incident and shortly afterwards her father had been sectioned in the presence of police officers.

He said: “This incident is bitterly regretted. Both officers were uninjured and in the spitting incident it didn’t land on the custody officer.
“Her father struggles with the police and is perhaps anti-police, and she has cared for him for the past four years.”
Sentencing Jones to eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months, Recorder Cameron Crowe told her: “You refused to let police officers into your address and shouted abuse and threatened violence.”
