Police and council officers shut down Hucknall drug den

Police officers and council staff shut down a ‘drug den’ property and made an arrest following complaints from residents.

Officers from the Hucknall Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) in conjunction with colleagues from Ashfield Council's community protection team attended the address in Lime Tree Road on May 12 following reports that the address had been taken over by drug users and dealers.

Officers quickly entered the address and a male was arrested and taken into custody, the council were then able resume control of the property.

PS Sandeep Mann from Hucknall NPT said: “This address has been on our radar for a while, we had been receiving reports from members of the public surrounding concerns that the occupant had allowed others into the address and it was being used for criminal purposes.

"We have been making our own checks enquiries and got in touch with the council to see if we could do a joint operation to enter the address to address our concerns for the occupant.

"Entry was obtained and a male unrelated to the address was arrested.

"This was another successful collaboration with our colleagues at the council and I would like to extend my thanks to Steve and his team for their assistance.”
