First gig and a record deal for new supergroup

Deeper Than Forever is a six-piece alternative rock and hip hop band which has been formed with support from Nottinghamshire County Council’s County Youth Arts team.

Its members include Blaire Williams (16), from Huthwaite, Chris Parker (18), from Stanton Hill, Kieran Harris (21), from Mansfield and Tom Offiler (15), from Ravenshead, who all successfully auditioned for their part in the band.

Deeper Than Forever performed at the recent TOLFest gig earlier this month at the Old Library in Leeming Street, Mansfield, which was hosted by the BBC’s Dean Jackson from The Beat.

The band performed alongside other acts including the Sam Jones band, The Dukes, Winners by Default, For the Girl and New Communication - the first supergroup, which was formed last year.

They have also signed a recording contract with In The End records and were selling and signing copies of their new EP called Voices at the gig.

Event host Dean Jackson said: “The standard of musical talent in the county council’s Supergroup project just keeps rising - once again there were some superb performances and really impressive range of styles and genres.

“I was delighted to be involved again.”

TOLFest was a festival of performances managed by County Youth Arts as part of SONAR, a Music Industry Week, for young people.

It featured a variety of workshops, masterclasses and participatory activities for groups of young people, held both in local schools and at the Old Library.
